Family Vacation

When my family and I spend our vacation abroad, we notice that a great deal of our high moments happened because we were in the right places at the right time—sometimes, because we were looking in the right direction for all two seconds, or listening for the right instructions amid the hubbub of crowds and traffic.

There’s a sweet old lady who tells me of a life well-lived while we wait in the park for our respective rides home.
