What’s Your Secret?

I saw a movie on HBO titled “The Secret Keeper”. The film is about this teenage girl who charges other kids a quarter for listening to their deepest, darkest secrets. Aside from lending an ear, this girl also agrees to keep “evidences” of their secrets in a big wooden trunk inside her old playhouse.

And so in that trunk lay smashed pieces of china, stolen stuff from the grocery store, a broken antique chess piece and all sorts of objects kids want hidden forever.

And in her heart, this girl keeps all the secrets of every child in the neighborhood. She is good at keeping secrets. In fact, she keeps a big secret about herself too. She is an adopted child and she doesn’t want anyone, not even her best friends to know.
